Almost every list of stocking stuffer ideas is the same: sugar cookies, candy canes, and peppermint bark. However, in addition to being festive, these treats have another thing in common: they are packed with sugar. As a result, they don’t make your dentist’s “nice list.” If you’re looking for unique stocking stuffer ideas that won’t harm your loved ones’ teeth, then read on!

1. Reusable Straws

Does your significant other love starting their morning with a delicious cup of coffee or ending the evening with a nice glass of wine? If so, consider gifting them some reusable straws! Not only are they better for the environment, but they will also prevent stubborn stains from surfacing throughout the year.

2. Bubblegum-Flavored Toothpaste

Chances are your loved ones buy the same toothpaste flavor every time, like peppermint or spearmint. However, those are far from the only flavors! Online, you can find flavors like bubblegum, strawberry, and bacon. The one “catch” is that you need to find one that’s ADA-approved as well.

3. Sugar-Free Gum

Sugar-free gum is incredibly handy when it comes to fighting bad breath. However, it’s also helpful for another reason: it stimulates saliva production to remove food particles from your teeth between meals. So, consider gifting the people on your list with a pack or two!

4. Dark Chocolate

Although you won’t find peanut brittle, candy canes, or other sugar-packed treats on this list, there are some desserts that are dentist-approved. Dark chocolate is a great example because it’s delicious and filled with antioxidants. Raisins, trail mix, and raw nuts are also smile-friendly treats you can include!

5. A New Toothbrush

Giving your loved ones a toothbrush is a lot like giving them a healthy smile! If you’re shopping for a niece or nephew, look for a manual toothbrush that’s their favorite color or has a cool character on it. If you’re shopping for one of your parents or your significant other, look into a new electric one instead!

6. A Gift Card

A gift card is always a great stocking stuffer idea because it can feel like a big gift even if it’s small in size. It doesn’t have to be a lot of money either; just pick something that demonstrates your thoughtfulness, like picking a gift card up from the new restaurant your significant other has been wanting to try!
