In many cases, letting unused benefits expire instead of\nusing them might ultimately end up costing your hundreds of dollars. You\u2019ll Need to Pay the Deductible Again Next Year<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of the time, your plan requires you to pay your dentist\na certain amount yourself before coverage kicks in. Like the yearly maximum,\nthe deductible resets at the end of the calendar year; come January, you\u2019ll\nhave to meet it again before you can start enjoying your benefits. If you\u2019ve\nalready paid this amount, it\u2019ll be cheaper to pay for further dental work now\ninstead of later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Your Dentist\u2019s Rates Might Go Up Next Year<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The cost of dental care won\u2019t always stay the same. There\u2019s\na chance that your dentist might need to raise their rates in the coming year\ndue to increased living costs or the need to buy new materials and equipment\nnecessary to keep their practice running. Raised prices could also mean a\nhigher copay; in other words, you could end up paying more out of pocket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Dental Problems Get Worse If Left Alone<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Visiting the dentist\u2019s office now doesn\u2019t just protect your\nwallet. It also helps you avoid the development of serious oral health issues.\nA small cavity can eventually turn into a severe infection; mild gum disease\ncan eventually become worse and threaten your teeth.
